SuperSymmetry Institute has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Office of the Presidential Envoy of the Republic of Botswana on International Relations and Economic Development, formalizing the collaboration initiated during SSI’s delegation visit to Gaborone in July 2025.
Under the agreement, SuperSymmetry Institute commits to conducting a Future-Proof Government Readiness Assessment for Botswana. The assessment will evaluate the government’s readiness across six areas: future-ready strategic focus, proactive public service and citizen engagement, anticipatory regulation and data-driven policy, agile resource management, open and flexible digital architecture, and mission-driven digital capability and leadership. The assessment will lead to the production of a readiness profile and gap analysis calibrated to Botswana’s institutional context. SSI will also analyze international best and next practices, identifying areas where Botswana has the potential to lead on a global scale rather than simply follow established models.
A critical milestone in the collaboration will be convening a strategic session with high-level local stakeholders, at which SuperSymmetry Institute will present the findings and actionable recommendations. After the session, a final report will be completed.
The collaboration is structured around five principles: partnership and co-creation, with solutions developed jointly with the Office of the Presidential Envoy and SSI partner, Future Trends, led by Farzam Kamalabadi, as well as other local and global stakeholders; transparency and accountability in methods, processes, and results; respect for national context, adapting international experience to Botswana’s institutional realities; future orientation, focusing on resilience, adaptability, and competitiveness; and an evidence-based approach relying on data, research, and stakeholder input.
The project outputs will be designed to support dialogue, institutional learning, and policy design for Botswana and other countries in the Global South.
